Palpopleura is a genus of seven species of dragonfly belonging to the subfamily Palpopleurinae and was established in 1842 by Jules Pierre Rambur . The distribution area extends mainly in Africa and for one species each in Madagascar and South Asia .
features
Palpopleura species are small with their hind wings measuring between 15 and 29 millimeters. Her abdomen is also short but wide. Its pattern is characteristic of young animals and consists of three black and four yellow stripes. With the aging process, a layer of dust covers it. Another characteristic feature is the wavy shape of the basal part of the fore wing costalader .
