Pan-Pacific Championship
The Pan-Pacific Championship was a soccer tournament between teams from Japan , South Korea , USA , Canada , Australia and New Zealand . The clubs came from the Major League Soccer (USA, Canada), the J-League (Japan), the A-League (Australia, New Zealand) and the K-League (South Korea). The tournament was organized by the MLS and Soccer United Marketing.
The first edition of the tournament consisted of four teams and took place in Hawaii at the end of February 2008 . Houston Dynamo and Los Angeles Galaxy traveled to represent the MLS. Gamba Osaka participated as a Japanese team and the participating A-League team was Sydney FC .
There has been no more event since 2009. In 2012, the Hawaiian Islands Invitational was held in Hawaii with teams from countries that have already participated in the Pan-Pacific Championship.
