Paolo Crivellaro

Paolo Crivellaro (* 1960 in Arona ) is an Italian organist and university professor .

Life

Paolo Crivellaro studied organ and piano in Milan ( Conservatorio "Giuseppe Verdi" ) and Basel. 1980 to 1985 he supplemented his studies with master classes with Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini , Harald Vogel , Michael Radulescu , Marie-Claire Alain and Ton Koopman, among others .

Since 2001 he has been a professor at Berlin University of the Arts , lecturer at organ academies and visiting professor at various colleges and universities.

Until 2010 he was "Ispettore Onorario" (organ expert) of the Italian Ministry of Culture and member of the commission for the protection of historical organs at the " Soprintendenza ai Beni Artistici e Storici" of Turin; For this commission he carried out studies on 215 historical organs from the Piedmont region from 1978 to 1992.

He is the author of studies, contributions to the history of the organ and lectures, including the book Die Norddeutsche Orgelschule - performance practice based on historical quotations (2014, Carus Verlag).

Crivellaro is often active as a juror at organ competitions: Odense International Organ Competition , Toulouse-les-Orgues , Prager Frühling , Innsbruck ( Paul Hofheimer ), Freiberg ( Silbermann organ competition ), Alkmaar ( Internationaal Schnitger Organ Concours ), Linz ( Anton Bruckner ), Kotka ( Finland International Competition ), Milano ( Dom ) etc.
