history

Pappelau is first handed down in 1275. The Myl von Pappelau lived on the castle mentioned in 1469, coats of arms and closely tied to the Fleck zu Schmiechen. In 1468 Rüdiger Myl and his son-in-law Hans Spät sold the castle and village, including the court and church records, to Count Ulrich von Württemberg , who in 1469 sold it to Georg Ehinger, from whom the place came to the hospital in Blaubeuren in 1471.

Duke Ulrich moved in the village in 1537 with the so-called visitation letter. It was then subordinate to the Office or Oberamt Blaubeuren .
