Papyrus 77 ( also referred to as 77 in the Gregory-Aland numbering ) is an early copy of the New Testament in Greek . It is a papyrus manuscript of the Gospel of Matthew . The surviving text from Matthew are verses 23: 30–39. 77 was written in elegant handwriting.

The manuscript was assigned to the second or third century by means of paleography . Together with Papyrus 103 , it probably belongs to the same codex.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type . Aland describes him as "at least normal text" and placed it in Category I a. 77 is linguistically most closely related to the Codex Sinaiticus .

The papyrus is currently listed in the Sackler Library as P. Oxy. 2683 and P.Oxy.LXIV 4405 kept in Oxford .
