Papyrus 83 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 83 ) is an early Greek copy of the New Testament . This papyrus manuscript contains parts of the Gospel of Matthew . There are only verses 20,23-25,30-31; 23.39-24.1.6 have been preserved. It was dated to the 6th century using paleography . The manuscript was found in Khirbet Mird in Palestine. The Greek text is likely mixed. Aland placed him in Category III because of his age .

The manuscript is kept in the library of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven under the shelfmarks PAM Khirbet Mird 16 and PAM Khirbet Mird 27 in Leuven . The writing was washed off by water damage, but could be published thanks to old photos.
