Papyrus Oxyrhynchus L 3525 is a copy of the apocryphal Gospel of Mary in Greek . It is a papyrus - manuscript in roll form. The manuscript was assigned to the third century through paleography . It is one of three manuscripts and one of two surviving Greek manuscripts of the Gospel of Mary. It is shorter than papyrus 463 .

description

Only a small fragment of a single sheet (presumably from a roll) survived. The fragment is broken on all sides and contains the material that has also come down to the Coptic manuscript in 9.1-10.10. Reconstructing the missing parts (especially the beginnings and ends of the lines) is not an easy task and one has to rely on the Coptic text. There are several differences between the Greek fragment and the Coptic text.

It was written in about 50 letters per line. The noun sacra are written in an abbreviated form. The manuscript was discovered in Oxyrhynchus. The text was edited by PJ Parsons. Today the manuscript is in the Papyrology Rooms of the Sackler Library in Oxford with shelf number P. Oxy. Find L 3525.
