Peter Immesberger (born April 18, 1960 in Kindsbach ) is a former weightlifter and medalist at the Olympic Games .

Athletic career

Immesberger took part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and reached 4th place with 350.0 kg (155.0 kg / 195.0 kg) in the class up to 90 kg. The winner was Vlad with 392.5 kg.

At his second Olympic Games in 1988 in Seoul, he took 3rd place (bronze medal) in the heavyweight up to 100 kg and received the silver laurel leaf for it. with 395.0 kg in a duel (175.0 kg / 220.0 kg) behind Kuznetsov with 425.0 kg and Vlad with 402.5 kg. The originally runner-up Andor Szanyi achieved 407.5 kg, but was disqualified for doping.
