Jörg Steinwascher (born June 4, 1945 , † 1999 ) was a German motorboat racing driver . He is the brother of the equally successful racing boat driver Volker Steinwascher . Both came to motor boating because their father sold boats and boat engines in his Siegburg company.

Jörg Steinwascher studied law and later worked as a lawyer. He died in 1999 on a vacation trip.

Sporting successes

Jörg Steinwascher gained his first racing experience in 1962 in the inflatable boat class PC (outboards up to 500 cm³). In 1965 he took over his brother's boat after he had won two German championships in the DU sports boat class (outboard motor up to 700 cm³). Later he concentrated on the racing boat class OB (racing engines up to 350 cm³) so as not to compete with his brother. In between he also drove in various sport boat classes, for example. B. 1966 at the 6 Hours of Paris in the class up to 1,000 cm³, where he and his brother took second place.
