Papyrus Palau Ribes 225

Papyrus Palau Ribes 225 is a papyrus sheet from the 4th or 5th century. On the recto (No. 870 according to Rahlfs ), above an older, as yet unidentified text, there are individual verses from the biblical books Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), Hoheslied and Jesus Sirach , while the verso contains Christian revised sayings from the sentences of Sextus . The sheet is damaged on all edges and has a format of around 21.2 × 12.7 to 13.6 cm. The beginning of the 36 lines on the recto and thus about 40 percent of its text are missing. The arrangement of the verses cannot yet be conclusively explained. The reverse is labeled in two columns with 35 and 28 lines.

The sheet is under inventory number Palau-Ribes 225 in the Historical Archives of the Jesuits of Catalonia (Arxiu Històric de la Companyia de Jesús a Catalunya) in Barcelona .
