action

Hayasaka Yukari, a typical Japanese student in her senior year of high school, is approached by students at a fashion school on the street because of her model-like appearance and kidnapped into their studio. They ask Yukari to become their model in order to present the dress sewn by the four students George, Isabella, Arashi and Miwako under their brand "Paradise Kiss" at the fashion school's final competition on the catwalk. At first the not very self-confident Yukari thinks she is not suitable for it and continues to study for her exams and the university entrance test. Above all, the influence of the extravagant and attractive George, who designs the creative Paradise Kiss dresses, makes Yukari rethink her monotonous life and goals and makes Paradise Kiss available as a model.

Soon a friendship develops between the fashion students and Yukari, who give her the nickname "Caroline". She learns that the couple Miwako and Arashi were friends with Hiroyuki, Yukari's classmate and secret crush, in their childhood. She tries to bring the childhood friends back together without knowing that they had split up in an argument because Hiroyuki was also in love with Miwako and Miwako had therefore broken off contact. Despite Arashi's initial jealousy, the three gradually begin to grow closer and renew their friendship.

Yukari falls more and more in love with George, who also has feelings for her. However, their relationship is complicated, as the bisexual playboy George leads a dissolute life and always had many acquaintances. With him, Yukari is more and more immersed in the world of fashion and no longer sees any point in her school career. After an argument with her ambitious mother, who always wanted Yukari to go to good schools and be accepted at a university, Yukari runs away from home and wants to drop out of school to concentrate only on modeling. Miwako's sister, who owns the successful fashion label "Happy Berry", gives her her first modeling job, which Yukari masters with flying colors and is recommended to a modeling agency. However, the agency requires parental consent to accept the Yukari minors. So Yukari moves out of George's home and back to her strict mother, who only allows her to model when Yukari graduates from school. Hiroyuki is also relieved when Yukari goes back to school, as he has fallen in love with her despite her relationship with George and was very worried about her dropping out of school.

Hiroyuki also watches Yukari present the elaborate Paradise Kiss dress at the fashion school's final competition. Despite her good performance, George only gets second place for the dress. After finishing school, Miwako works for her sister's fashion label, Arashi would like to be able to live off his music, Hiroyuki is studying to become a psychiatrist and Yukari becomes a successful model. George goes to Paris to realize his dream as a designer there, which also means the end of his relationship with Yukari. Isabella, who was born a boy but identifies as a woman and found in George the first person to understand her feminine side, accompanies George to Paris out of love.

Ten years after the actual action, Yukari marries Hiroyuki and spends their honeymoon with him in America, where they are invited to a Broadway show for which George designed the clothes.
