Parallel or 90 Degrees is a progressive rock band that emerged in 1996 from the music collective Gold Frankincense and Diskdrive .
history
Andy Tillison and Sam Baine, until then members of Gold Frankincense and Diskdrive , initially worked together with changing musicians. With the departure of guitarist Guy Manning in 1996, Parallel or 90 Degrees was officially founded. That same year, Tillison and Baine recorded their debut album, The Corner Of My Room , which they initially distributed over the Internet. Since this was not very successful due to the technology used, they decided to put together a band for the following album Afterlifecycle .
In the following years until 2002, Parallel or 90 Degrees recorded a total of five studio albums with changing line-ups.
After the founding of The Tangent in the same year, the band activities were largely on hold in favor of the much more successful project, there were initially no further recordings or publications; only in 2008 that appeared best-of -Zusammenstellung A can of worms .
After the band announced on February 15, 2009 that they were active again and that they would appear for the first time on October 9 of that year at the UK Summers End Festival in Lydney, they released a new studio album in November 2009 after 7 years: Jitter .
