Paranormology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paranormology ( Altgr. Para , besides', Latin norma , norm 'and Altgr. Logos , speech, word') was introduced in 1969 by Andreas Resch to denote those border areas of science whose course structures are based on the known natural processes or the recognized ideational patterns of the Interpretation of the world and man differ or appear to differ. In common parlance, the associated phenomena are referred to as psi-phenomena and assigned to the field of parapsychology , although psi-phenomena are only a subset of the phenomena.

Resch lists numerous teachings that try to explain "paranormal" phenomena: (alphabetically) alchemy , Bardo Thödröl , esotericism , Gnosis , Grail , I Ching , Kabbalah , Kahuna ( Huna ), Kundalini , mysteries , mythologies , New Age , numerology , Occultism , runes , Satanism , spiritualism , tarot , theosophy , anthroposophy etc. Resch divides the phenomena into the subject areas paraphysics , parabiology , parapsychology and parapneumatology ( Pneuma = spirit).

The respective areas include all those spontaneous and non-spontaneous phenomena that have a corresponding aspect and whose causes are still completely unknown . On this basis, various esoteric and parapsychological terms are classified into these subject areas. Parapneumatology only includes all those phenomena that cannot be classified in the other categories.
