1973 Fantasy

Paris Sessions is the sixth album Country Joe McDonald released under his own name. It was released in 1973 and received 2 out of 5 stars on Allmusic.

The album is all about the emerging movement of equal rights for women: Instead of “Peace and Love”, the songs deal with social issues, and McDonald's All-Star Band consists mostly of women. But also Peter Albin and David Getz from Janis Joplin's Big Brother and the Holding Company , who at times also belonged to Country Joe and the Fish , are part of the party.

Zombies in a House of Madness is a poem about life in “madhouses”. Movieola is dedicated to Stanley Kubrick and Francis Ford Coppola and criticizes clichés and violence in famous films.
