Bak Ji-won ( February 5, 1737 - October 20, 1805 ; also listed as Park Ji-Won ) was a Korean politician and economist.
Life
He is considered a satirical writer, artist, poet of the Joseon Dynasty with a neo-Confucian and mercantilist philosophy and mindset. He was a member of the Noron party ( 노론, 老 論 ). His nickname was Yeonam ( 연암, 燕巖 ) or Yeonsang ( 연상, 煙 湘 ).
