General election in Azerbaijan 2010
The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan 2010 took place on November 7, 2010 in Azerbaijan .

The seats for the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan were reallocated. The last election was the 2005 general election .
Around 700 candidates ran for 125 seats in the election. 4.9 million people were eligible to vote.
The opposition accused the government of manipulating in the run-up to the election.
Result
The ruling New Azerbaijan party won 72 of the 125 seats. That was a plus of 9 seats. 48 seats went to independent candidates. Two seats went to the Motherland Party , three seats to the " Civil Solidarity Party ".
According to the opposition, the elections were openly rigged. It should have been possible in some constituencies to vote several times.
