Azerbaijan presidential election 2013
The 2013 presidential election in Azerbaijan took place on October 9th.
Election process and criticism
The official election result was published by the state Central Election Commission via mobile app before the vote , and the incumbent Ilcham Aliyev received a majority of 72.38%. The commission later revoked this result, claiming that it was the result of the previous election which was "accidentally" issued. This claim is controversial because that result includes the 2013 election, not the 2008 election, and the percentages differ from the 2008 election results.
Election result
According to Azerbaijani sources, the election was won by incumbent Ilcham Aliyev ( New Azerbaijan Party ) with 84.7 percent of the vote, while opposition candidate Jamil Hassanli received less than six percent.
