The general election in San Marino took place on December 8, 2019. All 60 seats of the Grand and General Council were elected. After the election, a coalition of PDCS, RETE, DML and NplR was formed. The government has 44 seats, a two-thirds majority.

Electoral system

The 60 members of the Grand and General Council are elected by proportional representation, with seats being allocated according to the d'Hondt method. A 3.5% threshold clause applies to parties.

If neither party nor electoral alliance gets a majority, there will be a runoff election.
