The general election in San Marino 2016 took place on November 20 and December 4, 2016. As not a single bloc had won a majority of the seats, a run-off election took place on December 4, 2016 between the two leading coalitions San Marino prima di tutto and Adesso.sm to determine the winner of the majority award. In the second round, Adesso.sm won with 58% of the vote, with the result that seats were reassigned and the victorious alliance received 35 seats.
