Parodia nothorauschii is a species of plant in the genus Parodia in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet nothorauschii is derived from the Greek word notho- for 'wrong' and the type Parodia rauschii .

description

Parodia nothorauschii grows individually. The blue-green, spherical to short cylindrical shoots reach heights of growth of up to 21 centimeters and a diameter of 16 centimeters. The apex of the shoot is densely wooled and thorny. The 20 to 28  ribs are subdivided into humps with a chin-like protrusion. The areoles on them are initially covered with wool and later become bare. The up to four downwardly directed central spines are black to light pink in color. They have a length of up to 2.2 centimeters. The central spines are sometimes difficult to distinguish from the radial spines. The up to 15 radial spines are radiant in a star shape, white to light pink and up to 8 millimeters long.

The shiny lemon-yellow flowers often appear in groups close together at the apex of the shoot. They reach a diameter of 5 centimeters and lengths of up to 3.5 centimeters. Your pericarpel and the tube of flowers are covered with thick, white and light brown wool. The scars are purple. The green, elongated and thin-walled fruits tear open and are covered with white wool. The fruits contain bell-shaped black seeds .
