The Parque Portuario , also known as Parque Lineal or Parque Lineal Portuario Rambla 25 de Agosto de 1825 , is a park in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

The park, which is an extension of Plaza Manuel Herrera y Obes , is located in Ciudad Vieja along Rambla 25 de Agosto de 1825 between Misiones and Juan Carlos Gómez streets near the port of Montevideo . A competition for his design took place in 2007. The architects Alejandra Bruzzone, Marcelo Bednarik, Federico Mirabal and Ulises Torrado and the archaeologist Carina Erchini were responsible for the town planning in connection with its construction, financed by the Intendencia of Montevideo with the support of the Junta de Andalucía . The park was opened on August 5th, 2008 by the then intendente of Montevideo, Ricardo Ehrlich .
