Parsons Peak is a mountain in Yosemite National Park , in the Cathedral Range of California's Sierra Nevada . The summit is on the border between Madera County and Tuolumne Counties . A ridge northwest of the summit leads to the common border point with Mariposa County , which is also the highest point of this county. Due to the altitude, most of the precipitation falls as snow .

The namesake is the longtime director of the Sierra Club Edward Taylor Parsons.
