PartyLite is a brand name under which the US direct sales company of the same name sells scented candles, accessories and scented accessories . PartyLite is a subsidiary of the Luminex Home Décor & Fragrance Company, which also includes the Candle-Lite Company . The Luminex Home Decor & Fragrance Company is jointly owned by the Carlyle Group and Center Lane Partners.

history
The company arose in 1909 from the sideline activity of the teacher Mabel Baker in Cape Cod . The company took advantage of the lack of supplies of candles for some merchants and became known nationwide. Baker and her husband then set up a factory and have only worked for the company ever since. In 1965, the year of death of the founder, the company generated a turnover of 6 million US dollars .
In 1973 the company developed direct sales as a new sales channel and expanded in the northeastern United States . In 1990 the Blyth group bought the company and developed it into a premium brand. In 1992 PartyLite expanded to Canada and thus positioned itself internationally. From 1994 PartyLite expanded to Europe and opened up sales markets in Germany, Great Britain and France, among others. Further markets were opened up in Mexico, Australia and the Scandinavian countries, among others. PartyLite products are ultimately available in a total of 23 countries. Martin Köhler has been President of PartyLite since August 2016.

PartyLite sells candles and scented products in various scents, shapes and colors as well as candle and scented accessories under the brand name PartyLite. The range is adjusted seasonally .

The products are mainly sold directly through PartyLite consultants and catalogs . PartyLite employs over 68,000 consultants worldwide. The company follows the Direct Selling Association's Code of Ethics and is a member of the European Direct Selling Association (seldia). All country organizations are also represented in the local direct sales associations .
Parties
The distribution or sales concept as a direct sales company is based on the “PartyLite Party” (better known as “Candle Party”). Selling takes place in a private setting - at home with a hostess who makes her private rooms available for the sales event . A “PartyLite consultant” presents the various products and takes the orders. In return, the hostess receives discounts on products, bonus points or vouchers.
