Parwiz Dawudi (also Parviz Davoodi , * 1952 in Tehran ) is an Iranian politician and since September 1, 2005 the first Vice-President of Iran .

Dawudi studied economics at Iowa State University , his dissertation from 1981 reads: Money supply determination and a lagged reserve accounting system .

After the Iranian Revolution , he returned to Iran and took a professorship at the Shahid Beheschti University in Tehran. Already under the government of Akbar Hāschemi Rafsanjāni he had an advisory role in the Ministry of Economics, later he was advisor to the Minister of Justice Mahmud Hashemi Shahrudi until he was appointed to the cabinet of Mahmud Ahmadinejad . Dawudi was appointed to the arbitration council on February 27, 2007 by revolutionary leader Seyyed Ali Khamene'i .
