Pascal Lavanchy (born July 20, 1968 in Thonon-les-Bains , Haute-Savoie ) is a former French figure skater who started in ice dancing .

His ice dance partner was Sophie Moniotte . At her side he won the silver medal at the European Championships in 1995 and the bronze medal in 1997 . The greatest success of Lavanchy and Moniotte, however, was the runner-up world championship title in Chiba in 1994 , when they only had to admit defeat to Russians Oxana Grishchuk and Yevgeny Platov . At the World Cup the following year, they won the bronze medal. Lavanchy and Moniotte took part in three Olympic Games . In 1992 in Albertville they finished ninth, in 1994 in Lillehammer they reached fifth place and in 1998 in Nagano they reached eleventh place.
