Pascal Smet
Pascal Smet (born July 30, 1967 in Beveren ) is a Belgian politician of the Socialist Partij Anders .
Life
Smet studied law at the University of Antwerp . He began his political career from 1989 to 1997 as a local politician in Beveren. From 2004 to 2009 Smet was Minister for Mobility and Public Works in the Brussels-Capital Region . He then served as Minister for Education and Youth in the Flemish government of Kris Peeters until 2014 .
Smet is openly gay.
