Pasikudah

Pasikudah (also Passekudah , Pasikuda , Passikudah or Passikuda ; Tamil பாசிக்குடா , old meaning for bay of green algae ; Sinhalese පාසිකුඩා ) is a seaside resort on the east coast of Sri Lanka . The place consists mainly of hotels and lives from the famous Pasikudah Beach .

location

The place is about 28 kilometers north of Batticaloa on the Indic coast . Politically, it belongs to the Batticaloa district within the Eastern Province. Within the district, Pasikudah belongs to the Divisional Secretariat Koralai Pattu and not to Koralai Pattu Central , as it is often incorrectly or outdated.

It borders on Kalkudah directly to the southwest , while the small town of Valaichchenai is three kilometers to the west . The roads B184 and 185 end in Pasikudah and lead to Kalkudah and Valaichchenai, respectively.

tourism

With the Pasikudah Beach, the place has one of the most famous beaches in Sri Lanka. There are several luxury hotels around the Bay of Pasikudah . There are also some budget hotels, some of which are not on the coast. The surrounding areas also benefit from the tourism business , which was able to re-emerge after the peace with the LTTE in 2009.
