The Passage Est ( French for East Passage ) is a strait in the center of the Géologie archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It separates the Buffon Islands from the Lamarck Island east of Pétrel Island and serves as an access route to the Dumont-d'Urville station .
French scientists named it in 1978.
