Passendorf Church (Hall)
The Passendorf Church is in the Neustadt district of Halle (Saale) . It belongs to the parish area Halle-Neustadt / Nietleben in the parish of Halle-Saale district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
The church was built between 1720 and 1723 and is stylistically baroque . Its builder was Christian Trothe .
A stylistic exception was the late Gothic carved altar from 1510, which was temporarily installed in the Passendorf church and comes from another church, which is now unknown. He is currently in the Catholic St. Moritz Church . The font was created in 1658.
In 1877 the church was thoroughly renovated, partly rebuilt and a gallery, organ and benches built in.
An associated congregation has existed again since 1967, which repaired and renovated the church from 1969 to 1972. In 1977 the church was placed under monument protection. In 1998 the church received a new ceiling painting, designed by the painter Michael Schwill .
The church pond in the “Südpark” recreation area was named after the church.
