A Passierwiege is a kitchen appliance that is used to hand applesauce , Esskastanienpürree and similar food produce .

The passage cradle usually consists of an elongated trough with a perforated base on the underside of the device. With the help of a special rolling pin (small roll attached to a half-arm-length handle) or a tamper with a sloping handle that can be pressed precisely into the cradle, the cooked food is rubbed through this base with pressure. Shells, cores or other impurities remain in the cradle and can then be disposed of.

Older cradles were made of wood, today plastic is usually used, in Scandinavia the cradles are still very well known and are still in use.
