Passo or step was an old measure of length in Italy , Spain and Portugal .

In Lisbon , the geometric step was called the Passo geometrico. This was 1.65 meters and was like 7 ½ palmos. In Naples , 1/7 Passo was a palmo. The length of the Passo was the 1000th part of the Miglio.

The Passo itinerario was in Naples with 7 Palmi = 1.85185 meters. The former Passo agrario , the field step , was 1.94 meters tall and ½ Palmi larger than P.itinerario. In Lombardy the Passo was 12 feet.

In Venice the Passo was similar to the Spanish one with 5 feet = 770 Parisian lines = about 1.8519 meters. In Madrid it was 1.39167 meters long and had to be added 5 pies.

For firewood in Venice, the square pass with 3.02299 square meters and the cubic pass for stones were used.
