Pat Corley (born June 1, 1930 in Dallas , Texas , USA , † September 11, 2006 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor .
His best-known role was that of bar owner Phil on the sitcom Murphy Brown , which was produced by CBS from 1988 to 1998 .
He had other appearances, for example, in the homecoming drama Coming Home (1978) and as Chief Coroner Wally Nydorf in six episodes of the Hill Street Police Station (1982, 1983, 1986), and in the comedy Nightshift - The Morgue Freaking Out (1982), the science fiction action film Starflight One - Irrflug ins Weltall (1983), the thriller Against Every Chance (1984), the comedy Mr. Destiny (1990) and in the film drama Come Early Morning to me (2006).
