Paterson (constituency)

Paterson is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . It is located in the state of New South Wales . The constituency covers the area between the Hunter Valley in the south, the Manning River in the north and the Great Dividing Range in the west.

It was named after the Australian writer and journalist Andrew Barton Paterson and founded in 1949. In its first phase it existed until 1984. In 1992 it was restored with slight changes in the size of the area.
