Pati is the name of a large dam and hydropower plant in the planning stage in Argentina . It will be built on Paraná near the towns of Reconquista in the province of Santa Fe and Goya in the province of Corrientes . The water level of the reservoir will be 43 m above the river bed and the length of the reservoir is given as 300 km.
The barrier structure is a combination of a dam made of earth fill and a gravity dam . Together they should get the extraordinary length of 174.9 km, the second longest length of a dam.
The Chapetón dam is also being built on Parana , which is slightly larger than Pati, including a length of 224 km. However, the design and much more will be the same. At 3300 MW, the maximum power plant capacity of Pati will be slightly larger than that of Chapetón. Annual energy production is expected to be 18,578 GWh.
Construction work is currently suspended and the timing of completion is uncertain.
