Patience Dabany

Patience Marie Josephine Kama Dabany (born January 22, 1944 in Brazzaville ), born as Marie Joséphine Kama , also known under the name Josephine Bongo , is a Gabonese singer.

Life

Dabany is a Bateke , a member of an ethnic minority in Gabon, and was married for almost thirty years to Omar Bongo Onbimba , who was President of Gabon from 1967 to 2009 . After her divorce, she made a successful career as a musician. She is the mother of the incumbent President of Gabon, Ali-Ben Bongo Ondimba .
