Patricia Connors

Patricia Cahalan Connors (* 1945 ) is an American choir conductor and composer .

Connors studied music education at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, and choral conducting at Indiana University and the University of Iowa . She is the director of choral work at St. Catherine University , where she leads the women's choir, the St. Catherine Choral Society and the Madrigal Singers . She has performed with these choirs at home and abroad and gives two concerts with the Choral Society annually with orchestra, in addition to works such as Bach's Magnificat , Handel's Messiah and the masses by Haydn and Mozart, as well as contemporary works such as Stravinski's psalm symphony and Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb , Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, and Copland's American Folk Songs were performed. The ensemble also sang the world premiere of Jocelyn Hagen's Requiem Ashes of Roses and new works by Albert Biales under Connors' direction . A recording of Carmina Burana with the orchestra of the College of St. Catherine was published by Schott Music . As a composer, Connors emerged with choral works.
