Patrick J. Fuchs

Patrick J. Fuchs (born February 1988 ) is a member of the Surface Transportation Board .

Life

Patrick J. Fuchs studied at the University of Wisconsin . He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and political science. He also completed his master's degree at this university in 2011 in the field of “public policy analysis and management” with a specialization in “public transport”. He studied at the University of Singapore through a student exchange program.

From May 2009 to August 2009 he worked in the Middleton, Wisconsin city ​​government . He then worked as a research assistant at the National Center for Freight and Infrastructure Research and Education until June 2011. He also worked in the United States Court of Auditors from May 2010 to August 2010.

From June 2011 to January 2015 he was an analyst in the Office of Management and Budget . During this time he worked in 2013 as part of a training program for five months in the American embassy in The Hague.

In January 2015, he joined the advisory board of the Republican John Thune 's Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transport . As part of this activity, he was involved in the preparation of important legislative changes in the transport sector , including the law amending the Surface Transportation Board 2015 and the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

On March 2, 2018, he was proposed by President Donald Trump for one of the newly created seats on the Surface Transportation Board in 2015. On January 2, 2019, he was confirmed together with the Democratic candidate Martin J. Oberman . His term of office runs until January 2, 2024.
