Patrick Kromer

Patrick Kromer (born December 16, 1978 in Emmendingen ) is a German cycling trainer. From 2012 to 2018 he was a full-time national cycling coach in the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS).

Patrick Kromer himself was active as a cyclist until 2008, and in 2002 he was a member of the Continental Team Rothaus . He mainly started in one-day races .

Kromer studied sports science at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg , wrote his master's thesis on “Long-term studies on the technical development and physiological performance parameters of team athletes in hand cycling” and is working on his dissertation on a related topic. After completing his studies, he was an academic assistant in the field of biomechanics at this university.

In February 2012, Patrick Kromer took over as the successor to his father Adelbert Kromer, who had looked after the Paracyclists on a fee basis since 1992, as the first full-time national cycling coach in the DBS. Since 2010 he has been working as an assistant trainer to prepare the athletes for the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London after his father's serious illness . In 2018, Kromer resigned from his position as national coach in order to reorient himself professionally after 25 years in competitive cycling. His successor was Tobias Bachsteffel , long-time exercise bike for paracycler Denise Schindler .
