Patrick Le Lay

Patrick Le Lay (born June 7, 1942 in Saint-Brieuc ; † March 17, 2020 ) was a French media entrepreneur and from 1988 to 2007 managing director of the French television channel TF1 .

Life and accomplishments

Because of his power in the French media and his origins in Brittany, he founded TV Breizh on September 1, 2000 , a regional Breton broadcaster that cooperates with TF1.

In January 2003 he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor .

In June 2007 he handed over his role as Managing Director of the TF1 Group to Nonce Paolini.
