Patrick Nyamvumba (born June 11, 1967 ) is Lieutenant General and Minister of Internal Security in Rwanda since November 2019 .

The Nigerian Defense Academy graduate served as Commander of the Infantry Forces , Commander of the Rwanda Military Academy, President of the Military Tribunal , Head of Logistics and Chief of Operations, Plans and Training. From 2009 to 2013 he was in Sudan as Force Commander of UNAMID , a joint AU and UN operation in Darfur . Then he was until 2019 Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Rwanda , Rwandan Defense Forces (RDF).
