Patrick Kibet Ruto (born December 10, 1986 ) is a Kenyan badminton player . In this sport, he is one of the most successful athletes on the black continent in the second half of the first decade of the new millennium.

After he left the Kenya International early in 2005, he first attracted international attention a year later with a third place in the men's singles and a second place in the men's doubles at the same event. Due to the world ranking points collected mainly at African tournaments in 2006 and 2007, he was able to take part in the world championship in the last year, but was eliminated in the men's doubles in the first round. The Mauritius International of the Year was also the final destination for him early on. His greatest success followed with second place in the men's doubles at the Kenya International 2008.
