Patrick Schollmeyer

Patrick Schollmeyer (* 1965 ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Patrick Schollmeyer received his doctorate in 1997 with his dissertation on Ancient Spans' Monuments at the University of Heidelberg and then became a research assistant at the Archaeological Institute of Heidelberg University. In 1998 he switched to the University of Mainz as a research assistant . There he is active in teaching and looks after the original and cast collection of the Mainz Institute for Classical Archeology.

Schollmeyer's research focuses on Greek and Roman iconography , ancient sculpture and the regions of Asia Minor and Cyprus in antiquity . With several of his publications, he addresses a wider audience beyond the professional world.

Patrick Schollmeyer has been chairman of the German Archaeological Association since June 2016 . V. (DArV) .
