Patrick Stopford, 9th Earl of Courtown

James Patrick Montagu Burgoyne Winthrop Stopford, 9th Earl of Courtown (born March 19, 1954 ), between 1957 and 1975 he held the courtesy title Viscount Stopford , is a British politician and peer . He belonged in 1999 to the 92 peers who after the House of Lords Act in the House of Lords remained. He represents the Conservative Party there .

His parents were James Stopford, 8th Earl of Courtown , and Patricia Winthrop. He attended Eton College and Berkshire College of Agriculture , later the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester . He inherited his paternal title in 1975. He has been married to Elisabeth Dunnett, daughter of IR Dunnett, since 1985. They have a son and two daughters, James Richard Stopford, Viscount Stopford, Lady Rosie Stopford and Lady Poppy Stopford.
