Mess

The Patscherei was a historic inn right on the Saxon-Bohemian border in the western Ore Mountains . It belonged to the Bohemian Goldenhöhe (house no. 24), but was away from the village, was only separated by the border from Ehrenzipfel near Rittersgrün and could be entered from there.

The half-timbered building was built immediately after the Thirty Years War. It initially served as a mine building for processing the ores extracted in the border region of the Gottesgab mountain district. The water of the Goldbach, which flows into the Pöhlwasser not far from the building, was used to operate the stamping mill . A few meters to the south-east, after the Thirty Years' War, a Zainhammer was built on the road to Goldenhöhe directly on the border , which was in operation in 1677, but had already died in 1728.

In 1831 Augustin Paatzsch acquired the old ore linen along with the ten hectare Hufenwiese and a fish pond in order to operate agriculture, fish farming and charcoal.

Initially only intended as an extra income, Ludmilia Patsch acquired the concession for a beer trade in 1875. This led to the well-frequented Gasthaus zur Patscherei , which her son Moritz Patsch took over in 1917. In 1940 the inn passed to Erich and Marga Patsch. They were evicted in 1946 and the building , which has been vacant since then, was demolished in 1949/50.
