Paul-Gerhard Klumbies (born August 14, 1957 in Bad Pyrmont ) is a German Protestant theologian ( New Testament scholar ).

Life

From 1976 Klumbies studied Protestant theology in Bethel , Erlangen , Hamburg and Münster . He took his theological exams in 1982 and 1984 at the Lippische Landeskirche in Detmold. From 1984 to 1988 he was a research assistant in the New Testament subject at the Bethel Church University , where he was also awarded a Dr. theol. received his doctorate. From 1988 to 1993 he was parish vicar and parish priest in Bad Salzuflen . From 1993 to 2004 he was Professor of Protestant Theology with a focus on the New Testament and Diaconal Studies at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Freiburg . In 2000 habilitated he specialized in New Testament at the Faculty of Protestant Theology of the University of Hamburg. Since 2004 he has been Professor of Biblical Sciences with special emphasis on the New Testament at the University of Kassel .

Klumbies is married and has two children.
