Paul-Louis Ladame

Paul-Louis Ladame (born June 15, 1842 in Neuchâtel , † October 21, 1919 in Geneva ) was a Swiss neurologist , philanthropist and pioneer of social medicine .

In 1865 Ladame did his doctorate at the University of Bern with a work on the symptomatology and diagnosis of brain tumors, which was also published as a book.

Between 1884 and 1908, Ladama was initially a private lecturer in neurology (with an interest in electrotherapy, among other things), psychiatry and criminal anthropology at the University of Geneva, then first professor of psychiatry. 

Ladame was a co-founder of the Neuchâtel Société médicale and its president in 1874, a member of the Geneva Société médicale and its president in 1892, and co-founder of the Société genevoise de patronage des aliénés . From 1916 to 1919 Ladame was President of the Swiss Neurological Society .
