Paul Adam (bookbinder)

Paul Adam (born February 20, 1849 - † July 27, 1931 ) was a German bookbinder and author of numerous specialist publications.

Life

Adam learned bookbinding in Breslau and then became a specialist teacher and binding researcher . In 1894 he founded a private technical school in Düsseldorf.

He was a co-founder of the Association of German Bookbinder Guilds (BDBI) and the Jakob Krauße Association . Adam became a member of the Association of Masters of Binding Art .

From 1901 to 1920 he headed the specialist journal Archiv für Buchbinderei and was an important specialist writer.
