Paul Batigne

Paul Batigne (also Johann Batigne , born February 16, 1724 in Revel , † 1773 in Berlin ) was a French medic and poor doctor of the French colony in Berlin.

Life

Paul Batigne studied medicine in Montpellier and received his doctorate from the Montpellier Faculty of Medicine . He later worked in Berlin as a poor doctor for the French colony and as a doctor at the royal hospital. He was a member of the royal medical college in Berlin and corresponded with Albrecht von Haller and Carl von Linné .

The main focus of Batigne's research was primarily concerned with the digestive process in humans and animals.

On April 9, 1768, Johann Batigne was given the academic surname Straton III. under the matriculation no. Elected member of the Leopoldina in 701 .
