Paul Broicher

Paul Broicher (born March 24, 1914 in Duisburg ; † March 4, 2001 in Bad Neuenahr ) was a German lawyer and long-time managing director of the German Industry and Commerce Conference .

Life

After graduating from high school, he studied law at the universities of Tübingen , Frankfurt / Main and Bonn , which he completed in 1937 with the first state examination in law. After the legal clerkship, the second state examination followed in 1940. Since 1933 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Guestfalia Tübingen in the CV .

Broicher initially headed the legal department of an energy supply company before working as a lawyer in Stuttgart from 1942. After the Second World War, Broicher first worked as a journalist, then from 1950 to 1963 as a lawyer in Koblenz. In 1963 he became the managing director of the Koblenz Chamber of Commerce and Industry , a position he held until 1968. Broicher was then from 1968 to 1980 managing director of the German Industry and Trade Congress . Subsequently, he was the European Commissioner for the German Industry and Trade Conference in Brussels.
