Paul Burkhard (sculptor)
Paul Burkhard (born October 14, 1888 in Richterswil , † August 2, 1964 in Agra ) was a Swiss sculptor and draftsman .
Live and act
Burkhard worked from 1905 to 1913 as a puncturer among others for Hermann Haller . From 1913 to 1921 he studied at the Munich Art Academy .
His portrait busts, figures, groups and animal sculptures are known. He made designs for pictures of coins and postage stamps and was the creator of the alpine shepherd, often interpreted as Wilhelm Tell , on the five-franc coin | In 1919 and 1920 he received a federal art grant .
